The Best Cabin Tents

The Best Cabin Tents

So what to look for when looking for a tent suitable for more than a couple of people? Well you need to consider the size and how many people – most likely – you’ll be taking off on camping trips during the year, some are fit for families and some are more suited to larger groups of friends who have perhaps opted for a more rustic camping trip for the stag rather than Las Vegas.

Then you need to consider price and durability and get a good balance on those – too cheap, you might find it’s made of low-quality materials, and too expensive and you could be looking at a hefty credit card bill. Find out my recommendations for the best cabin tents.

How to Choose the Best Cabin Tents

Height

Look out for the cabin tents that have a good size centre height, as these will most likely feel more roomy and spacious, and then when you’ve piled in the entire family it hopefully won’t feel as cramped.

Height can also impact on weight so be sure not to go too overboard on the biggest tent as for many camping spots you might find that you have to carry it to your camping spot on your back.

Sections

As cabin tents tend to have more room, you can look for additional extras that you just wouldn’t find in a two-person tent. These can be anything from a built-in closet to over 3 rooms for everyone, giving everyone their own space and privacy along with keeping all your belongings organised – clutter free!

Windows

Then look for number of windows and number of vents. As these tents tend to hold a lot more people, they can inevitably become a little bit more stuffy through the night so it’s important that there is adequate space and ventilation inside.

If you’re someone like me who likes to have enough room to stand up and walk around inside a tent instead of spending the night feeling slightly squashed then this is a brilliant option for you.

The main selling point here is that it’s a huge 7.5 foot inside with steep walls on either side for your ease and comfort. It’s got a D shaped front door so it really does feel like your own little cabin for the night. There’s five windows inside with mesh for privacy, so you’ll get plenty of light streaming through in the morning to wake you up naturally.

But all this room comes at a cost, as this tent is definitely at the higher end of the pricing scale when it comes to cabin tents.

This one is super easy to assemble, with one or two people if you’re short on time. The top part is mesh so it’s perfect for summer camping trips rather than in the depths of winter surrounded by snow.
