We all know how important it is to have a good night’s sleep. However, when we’re camping, we always assume that a good night’s sleep isn’t possible. Our neighbours are either too loud or it’s uncomfortable to physically sleep in our tents. There are small twigs and rocks which jab into our back and neck, causing massive discomfort and extreme pain when we wake up.
Of course, you can scan the ground prior to pitching your tent but you can also get yourself a sleeping pad which will solve your problem immediately. So, with that being said, we’re going to take a look at the OutdoorsmanLab Ultralight Sleeping Pad.
The OutdoorsmanLab Ultralight Sleeping Pad is well-known among the camping community. Why? Well, because no one wants to wake up in the morning with a stiff neck. So, campers and hikers demanded outdoor companies produce an alternative to sleeping on the uncomfortable ground or in a bulky cot.
This is where the sleeping pad comes in. Lightweight and versatile, the OutdoorsmanLab Ultralight Sleeping Pad is one of the best sleeping pads on the market. We’re going to show you all the features included in the OutdoorsmanLab Ultralight Sleeping Pad, putting it on your list as a strong contender.
When people use a sleeping pad many complain about the design. They usually say that the sleeping pad is uncomfortable due to the stripped mattress which is often designed lengthwise. As a camper, you don’t want to feel like you’re falling through the cracks of your sleeping pad.
However, the OutdoorsmanLab Ultralight Sleeping Pad’s design is completely different. Instead of having strips going down the mattress, the sleeping pad uses a cellular surface. Not only does this make the camper feel more comfortable and as if they’re sleeping on an actual mattress but also it helps to keep the pad stable on the ground.
Very often sleeping pads will slide from side to side, however, the OutdoorsmanLab Ultralight Sleeping Pad’s cellular surface keeps the pad from sliding.
We all know how important weight is when it comes to camping and backpacking. Of course, depending on what you’re doing, you may be able to ease up on the weight restrictions, but at the end, you want to be able to easily unpack and repack your trunk.
The OutdoorsmanLab Ultralight Sleeping Pad is, as it says in the name, an ultralightweight sleeping pad. This means the entire pad weighs no more than 1 lb (16 oz). With that weight, you’ll be able to clip it onto your backpack without feeling weighed down or throw it in your trunk without a care.
You want to minimize the amount of equipment you’re taking with you on a camping trip of course, and this sleeping pad will not add extra weight.
The OutdoorsmanLab Ultralight Sleeping Pad is made of ultralight ripstop 20D Nylon fabric with an extruded TPU layer. What does this mean exactly? This means that the fabric used for the sleeping pad is highly durable and weatherproof as well.
So, if you end up with some stormy weather and have minor tent leakage, rest assured that your sleeping pad will be fine. You can even sleep directly outside on your sleeping pad and you won’t have to worry about it tearing, snagging, or becoming damaged by rain.
Though the sleeping pad is simply an accessory to your tent, it’s essential that it’s able to endure rougher treatment.
Easy to use
You want to have a good night’s sleep, but you don’t want the hassle of having to set-up and take down all the equipment. Of course, that’s everyone’s most hated part of camping. But the OutdoorsmanLab Ultralight Sleeping Pad is very easy to use.
Firstly, it comes in a tiny pack that you’ll be able to throw in the back of your trunk or backpack. Secondly, the air valves allow for quick inflation and deflation. In total, you’ll be able to inflate your sleeping pad within 10 to 15 breathes and deflate it within seconds.
If you’re camping with children or setting up camp after a long day of hiking, you want to be able to set-up your shelter as quickly as possible. The OutdoorsmanLab Ultralight Sleeping Pad is a quick and easy add-on to your set-up.
When you’re camping or hiking, your goal is to reduce the number of supplies you take with you and keep everything as compact as possible. So many times, people end up with their trunk full of bulky tools and supplies.
However, the OutdoorsmanLab Ultralight Sleeping Pad is the complete opposite and will hardly take up any space in your backpack or trunk. It’s highly compact as it can pack down to 8” x 3” in size.
This means you’ll be able to fit the entire sleeping pad into the bottom of your backpack or in the trunk of your car without it taking up any space. And when it comes to camping, space is always an issue.
Weight & Size
As with most camping equipment, weight and size is always an issue. Through time, camping equipment has evolved and companies are now creating gear which is lightweight and compact.
The OutdoorsmanLab Ultralight Sleeping Pad is a perfect example of innovation and design. It’s ultralight, weighing only 1 lb (16 oz) and, when packed up in it’s carrying sack, it’s 8” x 3” in size. You’ll be able to carry this around with you even if you want to lounge at the beach or at a park as you’ll be able to throw it into any sized backpack.
The OutdoorsmanLab Ultralight Sleeping Pad is made out of ultralight ripstop 20D Nylon fabric with an extruded TPU layer. This material is highly durable and waterproof as well.
You want a sleeping pad that’ll be able to take some abuse from rough terrain and of course, from yourself. As long as you don’t treat it too roughly, it’ll be able to last you a long time.
Many sleeping pads are not comfortable. They’re not designed with the mindset of a camper or hiker. Because of that, many sleeping pads are considered mediocre and not great. However, the OutdoorsmanLab Ultralight Sleeping Pad is designed for campers and hikers.
They chose materials which would prevent water damage, anti-slip and a cellular surface for extra comfort. Many of these features as stated are simply not included in other sleeping pads which is why this makes the OutdoorsmanLab Ultralight Sleeping Pad stand out.
